Looking for John Mottershead who married Anne (or Mary Anne) Houlden (Holden) in early 1840's. Anything would be appreciated.

There is a marriage in the Manchester Registration District, Sept Qtr 1842 Vol 20 Page 405, Mary Ann Houlden, John Mottershead. Difficult to find in 1851 census as age and place of birth are not known. Do you have any other info, such as children's names, or place of birth of either John or Mary?

I believe John Mottershead was born in 1819 or 1820 - Macclesfield, Cheshire. He was christened there 25 Jun 1820. His father was Matthew Mottershead, born about 1794 and married to Phyllis. I am not sure about Mary Ann Houlden, apart from the fact that her father's name was David.

Before going any further, is this the correct family in 1851? There is another John born in Macclesfield abt 1817, but he is married to a Charlotte.

1851
Buxton Road, Macclesfield
John born Macclesfield 1818 occupation painter, married, son of Mary Mottershead widow, living with mother, two sisters (one married with 1 child), no indication of his wife, but possibly two children Mary and Hannah age 9 & 10.
