Hi looking parents and family of Thomas Griffiths listed as age 58 in the 1851 census born Ruardean, Gloucestershire.
Does anyone have an information about this family in the Forest of Dean ?
Better still is anyone related to this family ?
Happy hunting, SloopJB. :)

From Gloucestershire Burial Index of Ruardean:
10 December 1825 John GRIFFITHS, aged 69 of Ruardean
12 January 1840 Sarah GRIFFITHS, aged 80 of Ruardean
According to Hugh Wallis's IGI site, there is an extracted baptism on 28 March 1756 of a John GRIFFITHS son of John & Sarah which fits in very well with the burial above and there is also a member submitted marriage on the IGI on 19 May 1755 at Ruardean of a John GRIFFITHS and a Sarah JONES.

Great Webb site Jan.
Janet what is the link to Hugh's IGI site, please ?
SBS et al I think there is a likely marriage of John Griffiths and Sarah Harrison in Ruardead 16 Sept 1780. I searched Forest of Dean site which you gave me.
What do you think ?
Thanks, SloopJB. :)

Sloop,
Here is the link to Hugh Wallis's website - http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/. Click on England, Gloucestershire, Ruardean and then search on either baptisms or marriages.
Good luck

Yes I think that this is probably their marriage.
What has surprised me is no details appear for either parent.

Hi Sloop JB
Well the good news is I'm related to the Griffiths' of Ruaradean and go back to 1699 and have about 480 people on the tree, not all my own work I'm in touch with others working on the same family.
I did have a web site with quite a few 'photo's on it but Rootchat who hosted the website were upgrading their server and it's been down for nearly a year now.
Thomas' father was Thomas born abt March 1756 mother Sarah Harrison born abt 1860.
Can you pm me with your e-mail. What relation is Thomas to you?
Pam
