I have just received a copy of my great grandfather's WWI Royal Navy Medal Roll entry. Under the Medals & C. earned column there is 'St, V, B'. Under the how issued or disposed of column there is 'S'. Can anyone please explain to me what these letters mean?
Also, can anyone tell me what a Sailmaker's in the RN entailed - if it isn't too predictable an answer? |oopsredfa
Thank you.

From 'The Sailor's Word Book' by Admiral W.H.Smyth, first published 1867.

Thank you for the info, Terry Reeves and Geoffers.
Can I just ask, under the how issued or disposed of column on the medal roll form there is 'S' listed. What does this code mean?
