Anyone know what "M.E.N.T" stands for on a parish record?

I think it could be Mile End New Town

M. E. N. T. really confused me on a census - till I had the brains to look at the top of the page :) and saw it said 'Mile End New Town'.
Similarly, M. E. O. T. is Mile End Old Town.
