I've found William Jackson married to Susan Hasler Sep 1822 in Bishops Stortford. Although William was born in Stanstead Mountfitchet and Susan in Hatfield Heath they appear to have settled in Bishops Stortford. They had nine children - William, John, Charles, Henry, Joseph, Mary, Richard, Martha and Richard.
If you've got any information on this family or possible links I would love to hear from you.

In the 1861 and 1871 census returns Susan's birthplace is recorded as MANUDEN, Essex.

Many thanks for your help.
Are you researching and or related to the Jacksons in any way?

Cheers

Stephen

No connection with the family, just an old codger from Hertfordshire who likes to help others.

just an old codger from Hertfordshire who likes to help others.

There's a lot of us about :D
There's only a couple or three miles between Manuden, Stansted Mountfitchet and Bishops Stortford, and Hatfield Heath would be a couple of hours brisk walk. (Perhaps a bit more for us ol' codgers :))

Bishops Stortford is right on the border of Hertfordshire... whilst Stansted Mountfichit is in Essex. Not sure whether that was the case back in the early 1800s - but you may need to do some cross-county research!

Thanks Linda,
I agree that I will have to start doing more research in Essex.

Thanks Clive,

Never having been to Hertfordshire, I didn't know those places were so close to each other. I wonder if that will make my research any easier. I will certainly have to expand my research area.

All the best

Stephen

William is my great-great-great grandfather, through Charles his son and his son Walter, his son Henry and then his daughter Patricia. Does anyone else have any information about the family or is a family member please?

Thank you. Debs|help|

There are still Jackson's in Hatfield Heath.

The shopping centre in Bishop's Stortford is Jackson Square, named after Sir George Duckett formerly Jackson.

Hi,

Many thanks for your information about there still being Jacksons in Hatfield Heath.
As and when I can I'm trying to check on Jacksons in and around the Bishops Stortford area.
