Hi after a great deal of help from this forum we have researched more about great grandfather, William Whitenmair. After find the correct spelling on this forum, a google search of the name, it came up in Rose-z list (British-jewry.org.uk) I got the list up and tried to copy it for my relatives, but a password was needed etc. Does anyone know about the list and who compiled it?

It is the British-Jewry Website, on the Mailing List sign up page, it would not let me copy the copyright message. :D it simply has the copy and paste function disabled on its pages.

BUT when I found the list that you mention (spelling WITTENMAIR, no such thing as correct spelling those days) I had no problem with "select all" copy and paste. I was also able to just select the Wittenmair entries and copy and paste them as well.

ChristineRHi Christine Thanks very much for your information. I think I had a problem because I usually do with computers! I did try the copy and paste, and thats when it came up with the password needed. I will try the select all (Thanks very much)

I didn't get any password request.

I kept the copy that I pasted - I can PM it to you if you still have trouble.

ChristineHi thanks very much for that. I did the select all and managed to copy it thanks. I dont know why I had encountered the problem with the password, but I hadnt pressed select all so maybe that was why. I have the list copied now for my relatives.
