Hi:
I'm a newbie at genealogy trying to connect to ancestors in our large family.
I'm not too experienced on the computer either. I came across this site by accident and it looks interesting so I thought I would give it a try. It's the first site that has ever had "Introduce Yourself". It is nice to know that there are friendly people in the universe. I am from Canada and hope to make some friends while researching. I really don't know what to include in this introduction, except maybe to say if you have any questions, just ask.
Hopefully I can assist someone also. Hope to hear from someone! I don't know which icon to click so I'll try quick reply. Sorry.

|wave|Hi. Welcome to the most fun forum where we all try to help each other out and we learn TONS of stuff along the way. You're doing allright so far. There are a few of us Canadians and UK/Canadians here and we have a lot of fun educating the "others over the pond".

Browse the forums and find your way around then post your questions in the relevant forum. When you find the forum you want click on the New Thread button on the lower left and presto type away. No need to be nervous.:)

A big thank you Vanessa for your welcome.

I'm still putting things together to know what query to make.
You said in your note that it has to be put into the relevant forum. How do you determine which is the correct one?

I have been collecting data for the last year off and on from people and some websites and have a family that emigrated from England to Canada, but one child remained in England. What forum would the whereabouts of that person go and would I include all the information I have on that family?

I have only been browsing this site and it is so interesting, but now I need to start working.|book|

Thanks very much. Hope to hear from you.

Hi there and welcome!

It really depends upon the subject matter. If you have a question about an Agricultural Labourer who lived in Essex but was involved in the Agricultural Labourer's strike of 1914, the options could be:
Labourers
Essex-wide forum
World War I

However, it's all down to what you want to find out.

Don't worry if you are unable to find the right board - we can always move your message if you get lost. |hug|

Hello gonewiththewind

Is it because you like curries:D

But seriously...if your Coulsons are descended from a family in Northamptonshire UK I have some in my family. It is however a very common name so the chances of a match are remote.
