George Wood of Furthergate, Blackburn, Lancashire

Hello,

I wonder if any one knows of early Lancashire photographers?

My ancestor, George Wood, (b.1810 Blackburn-d.1878) was based in Furthergate, Lancashire and was a photographer from the 1860's through to his death in 1878.

I have several photos from his studio of other relatives of mine on this part of my tree (the northern part!) and I would love to know if there's any more information out there on him and his studio.

Any info or leads pertaining to the area of Furthergate, Blackburn would be most useful.
