Charles Watkins of Hereford

Is there anyone out there who has Charles Watkins c 1840 of Hereford in their tree, who could tell me who his parents were, please ?
He married Ann Davies in Hereford in 1860.
His children were:
Ann c 1863 b Hereford
Charles c 1865 b Birkenhead
Alice c 1868 b Hereford
Agnes c 1870 b Hereford
Mary c 1871 b Hereford

From 1891 till his death in 1909, he was in Birkenhead.

Toots I suggest that you get a copy of their marriage certificate.. This would confirm his father's name and from that and census information you willl be able to get his mother's name.

Also do you have the names of any siblings??

Unless you can say where in Hereford/shire there are 4/5 possibilities on the 1841 census.


having looked at the 1861 census I know exactly where you relatives lived... nice area.

I also know the address for the 1871 Census and lastly also the 1881 Census..

Hello Toots,

Charles' marriage certificate should name his father. If you have not obtained a copy yet, the reference is:

Marriages Sep 1860
Davies Ann Hereford 6a 760
Watkins Charles Hereford 6a 760

You will then be able to order his birth certificate with the proviso of his father's name. This will then help nail which one he is of these:

Births Jun 1838
WATKINS Charles Edwin Hereford 26 148

Births Mar 1840
Watkins Charles Hereford &c 26 153
Watkins Charles Hereford &c 26 156

Births Sep 1840
