Hi,I'm Scraton, worn out from gardening all day.Attended Who Do You Think You Are Show on Saturday and decided it was about time that I tried this great resource.I have been tracing my family for about 5 years, online,at record offices,Kew,museums and libraries.Cannot always afford the time to travel to some areas to do research.Hope that this site can help with some of my dead ends.
Regards,Scraton.

Hi Scraton, and welcome.

Is Scraton your surname? Just wondering, as it's an unusual one, and it's my wife's maiden name.

Arthur

Hello Arthur,

Scraton was my grandmother's maiden name.If only all my family names had been so obscure, would have made for more straight forward research.Still, what's life without a few challenges.

Regards,scraton.

My wife's Scraton ancestors were from the Nottingham area. What about yours?

OK then, you might like to have a look at her website at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~scraton/ - I'm sure she'd love to hear if you think there might be a connection.
