Hello everybody, |wave|

I am still a novice at family history research so would welcome any hints, tips etc. I now live in Northampton but most of my family are Brummies. I have managed to do quite a bit but now need to start using parish records which I find quite confusing as I do not really know which parish I should be searching in. Birmingham has so many!! and of course, some parish records are under Aston.

Names I am researching include: Basnett, Jukes, Morton, Eccles, Baldwin, Rodney [although he originally came from Scotland], Harvey and Gosbell. [as far as I know they are all Brummies]

Any information or help would be gratefully received.

Hello Brummieland and welcome to Brit-Gen |wave|

Make yourself at home, have a good rootle round the boards and post any queries on the most suitable ones.

Good luck with your research,

I have found some helpful folk on the Birmingham History ring:

and also on the Handsworth Historical Society.

Good luck!
