I have been looking round this site for some time, just plucking up the courage to say hello. I use a forum website for nails (as in fingernails, not the 6" metal type) and now i have joined this site, it is now my turn to be a nervous newbie. I am going to the WDYTYA Olympia show on Friday and hope to meet some of you there.

I am new to this family tree thing, and with 3 children and a full time job, i have little spare time. But i have even given up watching Eastenders as i can honestly say, i am addicted. I am tracing family in Essex and Ireland. I have realised that although we are working with the dead, it has brought the living closer and has given me and mum something to share togther.

So, thank you in advance for your advice and support, as like my mum (Mutley) i am sure i will be spending many hours on this site. |wave|

Hello, my lovely daughter |hug|

About time too, is it a case of you can't beat us then you have to join us?

At least, I've got you away from Eastenders and you always know where your old mum is. :)

Have a look around and meet all my friends and most of all enjoy.:D

Mmmmmm.......Eastenders or Dead People?

Yes I'd have to agree that dead people are more interesting

Oh well, now that you've discovered the delights of family history, your children will have to get used to fending for themselves.

Welcome to The forums.

Gosh. I'm going to the show on Friday. I'll have to behave myself or you'll report me to Mutley:)

It's probably just as well that very few of us using the site have the faintest idea what others look like!

Welcome to the forum Chocolate - glad to see you are following in your Mum's footsteps (or should that be paw prints ;)) If you have half as much fun as the rest of us, you'll be doing well.

Good hunting

Hello Chocolate and welcome to the forum.

Well, from now, the old Mutt will have to behave herself otherwise her daughter will be telling her off!!

Mind you, would the name Mutley II be more fitting |idea|

Just as well Mutley became a Moderator too late to be included in the Mods Photo Competition - some of you would have been even more

Me, I'm WYSIWYG with both name and avatar - it's just my postings that confuse people!

The knees certainly do :D

PS And this probably dates me. How many people remember that 1001 cleans a big, big carpet for less than half a crown?

Hi Chocolate, Welcome! ...Mmmm...making my mouth water at the thought!

Hope you have a lovely time at the show, wish I could get there, but other pressing engagements.

Look forward to seeing your queries....now I wonder if your mum will start jumping in with the answers, before we get chance? :D

Wonder why some of the others thought your mum was a fella? For some reason, I've always thought she was a female? I think it stems from the early days, before the Mutley tag.

Enjoy the Forum experience.

With Chocolate joining the forum, is this the first time that we have had a mother and daughter as members?

Also Chocolate, first tip for researching your family history, interrogate your mother for all the things that she hasn't told you about your family and that she would like to forget. Then post them on here :D

Nah Nah, Mutley has grown up with Rotts, Bailey (as in creamy drink)
and Dona (as in head of household!!) are his two best Rottie mates.

Though not particularly politically correct these days, I have to say, I have not come across more gentle animals.

Maybe it's the way you bring them up....

And Sue Hope he's not allowed to eat chocolate

Oh no - Human edible chocolate is poisonous to doggies

Belated - as usual - congrats from me Sue. I missed the big moment because I was out most of the day, though I'd been watching your activity very carefully Wednesday evening. :)

(Chocolate, apologies for hijacking your thread. Though as I'm quoting Geoffers, I have to agree with him that dead people are far more interesting then 'Eastenders'. :D I stopped watching Eastenders, Neighbours, and Home and Away - never watched the other soaps - almost eight years ago when we went on holiday for a fortnight instead of our usual week, and I truly haven't missed them.)

Oh Sue, youve started my mind off now with the jingle for that advert going through it time and time again, so to get my own back, how about the parafin advert ..... blue, blue, blue , blue, ESSO blue da da da da

what other timeless jingles stay in our mind at this age, when so much else has been forgotten ?

Brian

AND its a big welcome to our new member, bet she's "sweet", isnt she Mutley. Does this introduce yourself posting break any records for the number of replies ?
