Hi, i'm SJ, have been researching my maternal family history for about 5 years now, but this is the first time i have logged onto this site. So here goes, hope i get it right.
Louis Leonardi BELLATTI bn 1785 LAKE COMO, Italy Barometer maker GRANTHAM and LINCOLN married Sarah STOKES at GRANTHAM, great gr gr gr Grandfather
James Henry BELLATTI bn 1820 GRANTHAM, Brazier, LOUTH, LINCOLNSHIRE, married Ann ARMITAGE at HULL, Gr gr gr Grandfather
Elizabeth BELLATTI bn 1844 LOUTH, married John WARD at STAINTON LE VALE, LINCS, Gr Gr Grandmother
Charles WARD bn 1870 STAINTON LE VALE, butcher, married Emma GILBERT
Ruth Ward BN 1904, post mistress, married John Herbert COOKE, bn 1901 ECKINGTON married at GRIMSBY 1925
It looks like my 4xGreat Grandfather came to England in about 1805 possibly with one or two brothers to escape being conscripted into the Napoleon Army. One brother is thought to be Carlos Andrea BELLATTI who settled in NEWARK. Although this link is not yet proved, i live in hope.
