I have a school book from the year 1900 at home, and inside it's inscribed
"June 1st,1900,combination ",what would be the meaning of that?some sort of combined school, maybe,i think the school may have been in the Surrey district.

Surely 'Combination' would have been the name of a class.

I believe that a combination school was one that had primary and secondary education in the same place.
I googled and found just one place with Combination in the name of the school and that was in Scotland. I have this buzz in my mind that somewhere I have read about it, I just cannot remember where.

A combination class is one containing mixed ages or grades.
