When a question has been satisfactorily dealt with, how do I remove it from the Forum please?

If you are satisfied that you have all the answers, the thread can be 'Locked/Closed' that is no one else can post to it. Whatever you do, please think about deleting a thread as the information will be lost and in the future, someone might find a connection with you through it.

I'm not sure if you can do this for yourself, as a moderator I know I can lock for you, if you let me know which thread it is.

The thread is on the Hertfordshire Forum - Elizabeth (Oakley) Livings of Ardeley, born 1878. I have decided the best thing to do will be to send for the marriage certificate.

If I were you I would put a post on your thread saying. "OK, I am sending for the certificate"

This will let people know that they don't need to do anything further for the moment, and the thread will quietly drop down the listings. I would leave it open, though, as once you get the certificate you might want to ask a supplementary question, and someone coming to the Forum later on may have a connection to the same family.
