Welcome to the forum Ted.
You have a head start on some of us - you can remember lots of historic events firsthand. Hope you have written it all down. :)

Hi Ted and welcome. Is there anything in particular you are stuck with? My husband is researching his family from Nottingham so we have quite a few resources. Just shout if I am likely to be able to help.

Hi Janet, thanks for your welcome and yes I would love some help with my inquires. My father's family were all in the silk weaving trade in Nottingham area, some born in Foleshill, Leek,Exhall in the late 1800 to WW1.
My father Herbert Lee was in the Sherwood forresters and died of wounds as prisoner of War in Mons Oct. 1918, He had two Daughters Frances b1914, Dorothy b1916, I was born 1917 but they would not know I existed and I am stuck with finding out if they had any children or even if they are still alive, Frances married a Thomas Adkin in 1939 but had no children by 1945 so believe he might have been in the War.
I would love to find and if possible contact any of them, can tell you more if you are able to help, many thanks Ted.

Sorry Ted, most of the records we have are pre 1900, so I am afraid I am unable to help.
