I have been continuing family research for about 2 years now and have jsut come across the site, so I am new to it.
Hello to all.
I am interested in the names BRISTOW and POOLE in particular.
We have traced our family back to a John Bristow who died in 1829. Birth date is unbknown and we suspect he was born around Great Marlow/Wooburn Bucks and had a shop at Beaconsfield.
The death is is noted in the Independent Chapel register for Wooburn Bucks.
John was married to a Sarah Poole who I believe may have been the daughter of a William Poole Haberdasher of Cheapside. My reasoning is that we believe Sarah had a sister named Hannah and William Poole had daughters called Sarah and Hannah who would have been the correct age. My father however recollects that and there is a note in some old records that Sarhs father was a George Poole from near Alyelbury but I can find no refernce to such a person.
Looking to try and connect John to the correct Sarah and find John's birthdate.
John and Sarah's son was Rev John Bristow of the Independent church.
Any help would be appreciated.
