Desparatly seeking any imfo or even a photo of Jack Frodshams Motor Cycle shop that was in WinWick Str Nr the Railway station

Further to my last message on the Hampshire Forum regarding Jack Frodsham's motorcycle shop - I've just received an email from Warrington Library and Local Studies saying:

The only information on Jack Frodham's motorcycles comes from local directories:

1932 not mentioned
1935 Jack Frodsham motor cycle and cycle dealer 42 Winwick Street
1951 Jack Frodsham motorcycles Winwick Street
1967 Jack Frodsham Ltd motorcycle specialists, new and used cars, motor engineers, accessories, spares, Reliant and Fiat agents 60 Winwick Street.

The firm is last listed in Thompson's directory 1989/90, but is not listed in the November 1989 phone book, suggesting it went out of business in that year.

I regret we have no photographs showing this property.

Your best course of action would be to write to our local newspaper - The Warrington Guardian http://www.thisiswarrington.co.uk/
and/or the Warrington-World Wide "Where are they Now" section http://www.warrington-worldwide.co.uk/categories/Community/Where+are+they+now
and see if any of their readers can supply you with memories or other information.

Did anyone get back to you on this ie did you try the local newspapers as suggested in the last reply?

Most of Winwick Street has now been demolished now to make way for newer shops but I think I remember it being on a corner on the opposite side of Central Station (railway).

I think the Warrington guardian would have been a good place to contact and maybe the Advanced Driving Association in Warrington - they had a section for motor bikes as well. Tom Grainger another driving instructor for motor bikes might have been able to help too.
