Hi there
My name is Liz and I live in Perranporth on the magnificant north Cornish coast. I am having a great time researching my family history. When I first started I didn't realise how big my family were. I thought on my mother's side the family was very small but on looking into it they are HUGE. My maternal grandmother and grandfather came from Slapton, Devon and they are both called COLE, although my mother keeps telling me they are not related. I have yet to find a link but am ever hopeful. What makes it even more fun is that my gran's sister married a Cole from Slapton as well but I have found the link there - their grandfathers were brothers!
Family trees I am interested in are: Jose, Cole, Jennings, Symons, Trenerry, Eley, Borlase, Stephens.
I really want to find any relatives of Philip Jennings who emigrated to Auckland, New Zealand on 22nd May 1924 with his wife, Lettice and children: Phyllis and twins: Geoffrey and Philip. They were all born in Chacewater, Cornwall but know no more about any of them. My mother remembered they emigrated but not sure where. I managed to find them on emigration which was great but what happened to them? There must be someone out there who is related. If so please get in touch. Philip Jennings was a brother to my grandmother but I was born 30 odd years after he left this country so never knew anything about him until I started doing this a few years ago. Any help would be much appreciated.
I am looking forward to meeting lots of new friends and finding out even more about all my family
