Jersey Baptism Look-up Help!

Some lovely people on this forum helped me decipher the 1841 census to discover that my 4th Great-Grandfather was born in Jersey. Unfortunately that's all it said, no town, parish or anything.

Are the centralized records for Jersey circa 1784 and if so can someone point me in the right direction...

Everything I have on him is as follows....

James Hancock born about 1784, Jersey, later married Sarah Parkin in Brentford Middx. Died 1862 Deptford, Kent.

As I said, not much but hope its enough.
