Hi Tina.....
I may be able to help, but I need to know where they lived , if the sons got married...I have found a marriage for a James Wilson to a Mary Ann Foster, but they listed his mother's surname as Wilson instead of her maiden name. Also with Mary's death certificate there's a good chance her maiden name may be there as alot of Ontario deaths include the maiden name.
:)

Thanks for your reply.
They received land in around 1833-36 in the Ayr Region. I have searched death/burial records and that is where I found they had come from Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland. Mr. Young had written a book on Dumfries and Ayr and the land was still in the Wilson family at the time of print. I was unable to learn anything about Mary's family name as they appear to have married in Scotland as my Gr. Grandfather, Alexander Wilson was born in Scotland. He married in 1847 in Gore District to Agness Brown. The Young Book also mentioned a John Brown who had a Store along the Cedar- Dickson Road. James Wilson and John Brown served as witness at Alex and Agness' Marriage.

Hi again..
Unfortunatly I am heading out west for two weeks as of tomorrow so I don't know if I can be of much help right now. I will be spending some time around Ayr/Paris this summer checking out cemetaries for my family. My husband is from that area. I did a couple quick searches this morning on some of the cemetaries that are on line as often you can find maiden names there as well. Do you know where they are buried? Too bad Alexander didn't wait another 10 years to get married then we could find him on Ont. marriages in A***.
As we lived in that area for a few years I am trying to picture a Wilson farm, no luck..but I know some people who may know........... I'll have to check out that book by Mr. Young.
I'll be in touch.
Sue

Hi Susan,
Thanks for your kind reply. I found Robert Lundy Wilson notice of burial in Ayr, but no Mary.
