As you say Glynis - so obvious.
Well, I assume you are referring to the 'handsome one' as described by himself in post one of this thread and he's definitely photo number 3. Trendy long hair. And the frilly collar must be from where he got his penchant for 'pink and silk with cute little bows'. (If you've seen another thread, you won't have to ask. And if you haven't seen the thread, then it's best not to know. :D:D )

If, by quoting my name, you mean what I think you mean, I think you meant to say that the thread was last posted in at 10.01pm on 9 Aug 2005.

And as for Sue - you've got a l - o - n - g way to go to get to that number. :D

The really annoying thing is that after all that looking, that was an answer I already had. (By using logic firstly, and then by chance later finding something to confirm it - probably that thread. :D:D:D )

Ah yes, I wondered who would spot that deliberate mistake - can't make it too easy for you.

And as for Sue - you've got a l - o - n - g way to go to get to that number.

She'll soon catch up- she's just being kind and giving me a head start.

P.S. ooh look at me for this post!!!! What a strange coincidence.

Though of course, in a few months time no one will know what the coincidence is. So just for posterity's sake - congratulations on your 1,500th posting |hug| (Though you don't look a day over 1,499 :D).

Thank you. And to Sue too. I daren't reply to Sue's post because I would have lost the magic number and therefore the connection between all the recent posts, and I hoped that by leaving it there other people might get the clue.
And if I'm very quick I might catch you (Geoffers) on your next thousand. I usually spot you lurking on something like -869 and when I look two days later you've whizzed round to not only the next thousand but another 256 posts as well. :D
Though in the meantime we have to watch out for Sue. :)

Well I got Jan completely wrong as I found out on Friday, but you were definitely photo number two Geoffers. You still might not be able to recognise yourself in the mirror though - that photo was taken last century so you've aged a bit since then. :D
I know that as well as being exceptionally busy Mike was having internet problems at the end of last week. Forgot to ask him on Sunday if he had got switched back on.
So the answers to your first two questions are 'yes', and 'we're all still waiting to find out', respectively. :) (Do I get a prize for knowing those answers?)

Yes the only one I was sure about was Geoffers, he still looked as handsome in his later avatar, which I think was deliberately missing! ;)

I'm afraid that I have got the rest disastrously wrong I think! Well one that I already know of!

Oh well, that's two I got right. I managed to get Sue M. pic. 3, but I'm not sure if the skill was right. Geoffers was the easy one.

I know I totally messed up on one of them though, with the picture....and I managed to put someone in who wasn't actually in the list of Mods!! |banghead|

I will now `fess up (although we haven't got the correct answers from Mike yet). I didn't think you were on the list Neil, and I thought the other one was MarkJ. I couldn't fit your picture to anyone else (although I kept telling myself that the young photo of you is a dead ringer for the one in the competition) so.....I put your photo to Mike!! Only reason was because he had a beard, but I thought the age was wrong! So apologies Neil, I should have gone with my first instinct.

Anyway, I knew I had blown it as soon as Mike gave us the names, so never mind...it was fun. Interesting to know who actually got them all right though!

It won't be me Glen, as I chickened out in the end :o

No, I've only ever had my current avatar. Indeed before Pam took over B-G and the various upgrades were made I couldn't get an avatar to load. It did appear on the Moderators' Forum when were were discussing what to do about those of us who had current photos as avatars, and is therefore in my Photobucket site. Perhaps you have managed to get in there on some occasion by following a link?

Oh Glenys, Neil |hug| was the easiest one of the lot. :) I knew one of them was Neil because of the family history society link, and he wasn't either photo 2 (had to be Geoffers) or 7 (had to be Mike because of the Falklands). Still not sure of Mike's skill but I said makes Dolls Houses and furniture and 12th scale garden sheds because it seemed the most 'bloke-y' and therefore the most logical out of it, spinning wool and calligraphy.
It was the women who were the problem......... :D

The list is getting whittled down. :)
Since last Friday I know Jan is piccie 6, and that she's the one who can card, dye and spin wool.
We know Sue is piccie 3, and her skill.
We've sorted out the men. :D
Which only leaves Ladkyis and Mary Elms.
Ladkyis has her skill (and grown-up piccie) on her profile. So by a process of elimination what's left must be Mary. (With apologies to Mary for making her sound a bit like a reject.)
Well, that's the theory......... :D:D
