Hi,

Does anyone recognise the name of Emma or Eliza Sophia ROBBINS? Emma married John JARVIS a soldier in Buckingham Church on 22.8.1842. They were both aged 19.Witnesses were Thomas Baker (who I believe may have been an uncle) and Emma Pursell. Emma's father was shown as Thomas Robbins and John's father was shown as John GREEN?

I believe Emma to have been born in Buckingham, but can only find a record of an Eliza Robbins (same age and parents) so possibly she called herself Emma at a later stage.

Emma and John had a son Alfred Strong JARVIS born 31.3.1846 in Buckingham. There is no sign of the family in Buckingham on the 1851 Census (or anywhere in BKM).

Alfred Strong JARVIS eventually turned up in Chelsea, MDX where he married in 1864, and his father John Jarvis was shown as dec'd.

I am running out of places to look for Emma and John and wonder if anyone recognises the names or can suggest where else I can look.

Regards Busyglen.
