Trying to find out if Samuel Richards and Mary (dwyer) married 1852 Hobart, had any children after 1854 in Tasmania. I have one daughter Esther Anne Richards b 1854 Hobart.

I would like to know when Mary died or if she remarried?

Samuel died in July/August 1867 under the name of Samuel Dwyer and there was an inquest.
Another question - can I obtain inquest papers on his death?

Many thanks Karen

I can find no sign of your Esther's birth registration in Tasmania, nor any marriage or other children to Samuel Richards and Mary Dwyer.

There is a marriage of a Mary Dwyer to a Samuel Robinson in 1853, they had a couple of children in Launceston.

Where did you get your Esther's birth and her parents names from?
It was pretty common for births not to be registered.

Hi ChristineR,
Esther Anne Richards is on the pioneer family index she was my gr grandmother and on her second marriage certificate she named her parents and I obtained a copy of their convict records. Mary Dwyer did have an illegitimate child while serving time but he died a few months later, I did find his birth and death. Mary Dwyer was 30 when she came so I am presuming that there wasn't anymore children.

Can you help me at all as to where I can obtain inquest papers for 1867 in Tasmania, if there is copies from that time? He was using the name Samuel Dwyer when he died as that is written on his papers.

Thanks karen

I had a look at the family database you mention, so I see that her date of birth came from the marriage. It is handy when they marry again. :)
