Dead or alive?

I have just received the 1841 Somerset census and with great glee set about tracking down my widowed ancestor, only to find that his wife is listed despite having been buried 4 months previously!! There's no doubt about the identity of the deceased, I've seen the burial register and the death certificate, so I guess that the 77yr old husband must have been confused enough to have given the wrong information.

Or perhaps he thought he'd get extra poor relief for her!
