I registered a little while ago but did`nt introduce myself. My name is Don and I am a South African ex-pat.I now live in Bellingham in the Pacific Northwest, and during those long winters, this is what I like to do.
I got bitten by the family history bug about 15 years ago and since the advent of the internet,I really got going.I am regarded in the family as the genealogy guru, but the truth is,I am not...I just love it and that begets determination which in turn begets a fair amount of good luck.I have since found out that I come from a rather distinctive family of warriors and SIR`S,so therefore, the road has been a smoother one, with the occasional slam into a brick wall! Sound familiar?
I am researching the MacAndrew,MacPherson from Inverness area and Jenkins from Gloucestershire,Monmouthshire and more particularly from Beachley House.
Also Landy from Ireland to South Africa and Else from Maidstone in Kent.

There appears to be Beachley House in Dorset.
I googled the name. Unfortunately I could not get it to open.
The description I found fits in with the 1881 census

Willetts Arms
Emma Jenkins. Born about 1863. Canford Magna. Dorset
Aged about 18. Servant.
Others in The Willetts Arms.
Edith N Smith. 3
Ellen Smith. 31
Ernest Smith. 5
Samual J Smith. 29.
In the 1871 census Emma is with her family in Winbourne. Dorset.

You need to give a few dates so that the detectives on here have somewhere to start with.
Cheers.
Dave
