Hi,

I have been researching the family tree on both parental sides for a few years, but when I hit a block I usually stay away from it for a few months and then like magic I return and find what I was looking for, apart from 2 people of which I can't seem to get any futher with. I will search the forums to find out where I can post for these, any help would be appreciated.

Can't find where to post for any help looking for people.

I have a Walter Waltham born in Moulton Lincs in 1839, his marriage cert states his gather as William Waltham, and his birth cert states his mother as Jemima Waltham formerly Forsdike. In the 1841 census Walter is living with an aunt and uncle, Jemima is working in a big house, and William is at the Turnpike in Moulton (he is a drover). William died in 1842 with Jemima there at the time of death. I believe I have found a Jemima Forsdike born in Otley, but can find no trace of a marriage for them or Williams birth.

My other stumbling block which is like a thorn in my side is a Sarah Hall born in Terrington, Yorkshire in 1826 according to census records, she married a William Keith in 1847 which states her father as Robert Hall. I cannot find her birth, I have found one Sarah Hall aged 15 working as a servant in the 1841 census in a village Keyingham which as the crow flies is no that far away from Terrington. But I cannot get any further back with this.

Please help

This is way out from your description but I have spotted a Richard Waltham who marries a Jemima Tucker in Bristol. 24th Sept 1836.
It was purely the ladies name, Jemima, that caught my eye.
Cheers.
Dave.

Again this does not fit to well with your description but here goes.
Sarah Jane Hall.
Father. Charles Hall.
Mother Elizabeth.
Sarah Jane is stated to have been Christened, 7th May, 1826. Hook. Yorkshire.

There are quite a few Sarah Halls being born around about that time in Yorkshire.
Sarah. Father George Hall. Mother Barbara. 1824. Dobcross. Yorks
Sarah Ann. Father. Nathan Hall. Mother. Betty. 1827. Saddle. Yorks
Sarah. Father. John Hall. Mother. Jane. 1828. Armin. Yorks.

I cannot see a Terrington though.
Cheers.
Dave

The 1861 seems to have Jemima age 61, born Moulton in 1800 as a border with the Worth family and a Jane Waltham age 27 is visiting.
Class: RG9; Piece: 2323; Folio: 73; Page: 27

In 1851 she is aged 52 and a servant born 1799 in Otley. Sheis living in Albion Street and works for the Harvey family.
Class: HO107; Piece: 2096; Folio: 365; Page: 11

In both she is a widowed nurse

The only one I can see in 1841 is living as a servant in Pinchbeck but she says she is born 1801 and was not born in the County.
Class: HO107; Piece 609; Book: 8; Civil Parish: Pinchbeck; County: Lincolnshire; Enumeration District: 4; Folio: 49; Page: 1

There is a death for a Jemima Waltham born abt 1796
in Spalding Mar 1878 age 82 7a/238

P.S. Sorry, you have 1841.

There is a marriage for William Waltham and Jemima Cowham in Spalding but it is strange that it is in Sep 1859, after William's death!! 7a/477

Sorry, none of this is what you asked for but I cannot find the marriage either.

thanks for the interest guys, I believe the Jemima Waltham nee Forsdike born Otley is the right one as I can find that one. I suppose it is possible that they may have grown up children going by their ages. Will keep digging. :)

I will move these to the right place now
