Hello Eliza,
How did you find the 2 possible names?
Where is it recorded (are we able to see it at all)?
When are we talking about?
Is it from a certificate - marriage or birth?
Is it from a parish record?
A few more clues are needed, please :D

Hi Jan
I do have a little more information but not much to go on.Have found, in the last 2 days,on The Latter Day Saints site.two IGI records for Laura Harris's siblings they are EMILY FLO HARRIS 1867-MOTHER MARY RILE and JOHN CHARLES HARRIS 1865 -MOTHER MARY REAL. Father in both cases William Henry Harris and both births in C Galway.I know that these dates and names are right as this has been backed up from another source.I have searched Galway sites and Irish Roots etc and there are REALS in that part of Ireland however she may have come from Cornwall as I believe that W H Harris did I can not find records of him on the Irish or Cornish sites other than Coast-guard info(Galway) which again is accurate.I think that my problem is that I am not necessarily looking on the best sites for the best information.Anyway onwards and upwards!!and thank you for any help Eliza.

Could this be Emily Florence?
Births Mar 1867
Harris Emily Florence Bristol 6a 41
If her father was a coastguard, maybe he was in the Bristol area at the time...
If it is her, then the certificate should give you her mother's maiden name.
