Dear Elizabeth,
What parish are your Harrises in and what year are you looking for? We cannot help until we know.

I hate to say this but although he may have been born in Cornwall if it was a Coastguard/seafaring family, which with a birth in Falmouth is highly likely, he may well not have been baptized there.

I know that in the Polperro records there are cases of Polperro men serving elsewhere as Coastguards having their children baptized when they return home for visits. Mariners from Polperro living elsewhere (such as Plymouth/Devonport) also brought their children to be baptized in either of the two Polperro parishes.

Hi Scottie
All a little vague but I do at least know more thanks to this SUPER site.William Henry Harris was born (I think)in Falmouth in 1835 he was a coastguard and moved to C Galway were I know for a fact that he was stationed at Costello Bay and Omey island. He was married to Mary? and they had 4 girls and a boy Laura,Alberts Matilda was my G/grand mother.I have found baptism records for the children all in the Parish of killannin Co Galway also a death record for William 1888.I have searced Cornish census record and Irish but have not found Mary as yet or a birth for William.I am cosidering a trip to my local Latter Day Saints as I ahve so much to check on now Thanks Eliza.
