Many people rely on the IGI and other websites as their source of information. Such websites can be useful research aids, but rarely tell the whole story.
Parish Registers and the annual copy made (AT/BT) often provide 'interesting' additional detail and should always be checked. I've already posted some entries on a separate thread, but thought that the following two baptisms from Stratton Strawless would show just how interesting these records can be...........So, when is a child also a grandchild.............??
1690 BRADFORD, John "bastard son of Richard BRADFORD by Muriall wid of
his owne sonne
1693 BRADFORD, Barbara "bastard daughter of Muriall BRADFORD widow and
her father in law Richard Bradford"
(Muriall Bates had married Richard Bradford at Stratton Strawless in
1685, her hsband popped his clogs in 1685)
