Hello Koko3 and welcome to Brit-Gen |wave|

Hempstead is only down the road from Castle Camps in Cambridgeshire. This area can be a bit of a nightmare as it's where 3 counties converge (Essex, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk) and, although in general the people didn't move around much, a journey of 5 miles could take in all 3 counties. :(

I have a Mary Buttal (origin unknown) who married one of my Castle Camps chaps 02 Feb 1761. So it may be worth looking under the different spelling.

Have a wander round the boards and post your queries on the relevant ones.

Have fun,

Bo Peep

hi jan

Thank you so much for replying to me, i have had a look at your website, great job!!
The mary buttal you have is 1761, thats the era i am stuck at, not quite sure where to go from here as the parish records seem to stop at this point so can not seem to go back any further. However that was only through a fishe i had ordered through the LDS and it seem to be the earliest records available.
