hi my name is barbie and this site looks quite good. i am looking for my brothers whom i never met, victor, david and steven. two of them or maybe just one were adopted but i dont know what happened to them. our mum was called norah c***ins and they were all born in birkenhead. last i heard was that victor lives in ellesmere port near chester but meant to be under the name of billy, we have no idea about david and steven. my others sibblings are brian, shirley, linda and carol. my mum died when i was 4 and there is only my mum's brother and 1 sister alive and they say they dont know anything about them. i have got their birth cerficate so i know they are real. i have research endlessly but not getting anywhere. i hope some one can help me as it would be so nice if we all got together even if its for 1 day. i am sure my mum would have loved that. please help

Hi,it is always worth while speaking to the social services dept of the area in which the adoption was. Were all of the siblings adopted out, or just yourself? And any ideas of the dates of the adoptions. if they where adopted out or in care, as some of them may have been kept together or adopted by the same family and quite often the names where changed,.

My understanding is that all this is strictly regulated under the Adoption and Children Act 2002 (England and Wales) and other relevant legislation and that information can only be provided through a chosen intermediary agency (although the local authority might provide intermediary services).

I don't have in-depth knowledge of this topic and stand to be corrected.

The following website may be helpful in Barbie's circumstances-
