I'm afraid so. I've been digging into the family history for a while and thought I'd join up to see what I can find amongst all you guys. Because I've been asked to do an intro, here it is. I'm a kiwi, living in the coastal village of Orere Point. I'm a recruitment consultant (engineering) and lucky to work from home. We also have a B&B tuicottage.com.
My father's side are from England and mother's from Scotland / N.Ireland. Paternal Great grandparents George Healey b. Sheffield 1833 who married Mary Roallons Blandford b. Poole 1841, and Caleb Hosking b. Kingsbridge Devon 1833 who married Sophia Barriball b. Tamerton Cornwall 1841. Maternal great-great grandparents Ralph Gracie was born Dumfriesshire 1787 and transported for forgery! He married Christine (Kirsty) More b. 1796 in Stirlingshire. The other maternal ones were great grandparents Terence Crooks b. Larne, N. Ireland 1837 who married Eliza (or) Elizabeth Waddell b.Larne 1847.
Phew....! I have a reasonable amount of info now, but would love to go further back in all branches. Would love to hear from others out there in the somewhat masochistic cyberspace of genealogy. Cheers!
