Hello to all

I am researching many families. I have found a few problems along the way as I live in New Zealand and takes me a while to try and make sense of counties and which parish belongs where.
I have been tracing my family for about 5 years on and off, but this year I have really started to make waves.
The families I am researching are the MERRICKS from Stafford, TEW from Leire in Leicestshire and my husbands side the WHITAKERS from Guiseley Yorkshire.
The main problem I am having at the moment is finding who were William MERRICKS parents?
William was born around 1815 in Stafford, his census for 1851 states that he was born in Tillington near Stafford, I have looked everywhere for anymore referances to William but just hitting a brick wall.|banghead|
William married Mary Johnson in the January of 1834 at St Chad in Stafford, they must of been happy people as they had 12 children. Emma 1837, Lucy 1838, George 1840, Harriet 1843, Mary 1844, Rosetta 1847, Lavinia 1849, Ann 1851, Henry 1853, Lydia 1855, Jane 1859 and Hannah 1862.
The MERRICKS family lived and worked in Stafford, and most of the family worked at Bostock shoe factory.
Is there anyone out there who would have any parish records for St Chad, St Mary, Castle Church or Christ-Church as all of these church's have shown up on census. Just to check out the MERRICKS and try and find who where Williams parents.
I know George and his wife Ann are buried at St Mary, but still no idea about William's death.

Thanks for the welcome.
Sorry it has taken a while to get back.
Should this post stay where it is? Totally lost with what to do next.
My main interest at the moment is finding William Merricks parents, they are driving me crazy!
I was lucky enough to find George and Anne Merricks who are buried at Tixall Road in Stafford. George is Williams son.
I have spent many hours of looking at the internet, and hubby not too happy with the monthly bill.
So is there any kind person out there who can help? William should turn up on a parish record around 1815 in the Tillington area Stafford.

Hi Suzy,

Once you have introduced yourself, it is usually better to post your queries on the relevant boards. Just have a look around, decide which county board (Staffordshire?) you want and start writing!
