My name is Margaret and I live in France with my husband. It was only after my mother died that I started to look at my family history. I knew bits about my mother's side, including lots of " mythology", but virtually nothing about my father's family. Although I am, of course, keen to track down the lineage, I am, nowadays, I think, more keen to discover how and where and when my ancestors lived. And my one of my daughters is hooked now. I'm currently looking at India, where one of my lines seemed to have been as all the children were born there.
How much better it would be, if, in schools, history was taught this way. And I speak as a history graduate.
