Hi
My name is Glenice and I am researching the QUICK and LANG families of St Ives. . ANNE QUICK was born 28 December 1832 in St Ives Parish. She married THOMAS LANG 18 July 1852 in St Ives Parish Church, son of THOMAS LANG and MARGARET SANDERS. He was born 23 October 1829 in St Ives Parish.

We are intending a visit from Australia to St Ives in late May and would love to meet up with some decendants of the above if possible.

Hiya,
I have found Thomas in the 1841 census of Cornwall, living with his mother -
HO107/104

Back Road,1,Peggy Lang,,35,Widow (Crossed Out),In county,
,,Thomas Lang,11,,,In county,
,,Jane Lang,,6,,In county,
,,William Lang,4,,,In county,
,,Walter Lang,2,,,In county,
,,Mary Sanders,,25,Lodger (Crossed Out),In county,

Peggy as you may know is a diminutive form of Margaret - although I have no idea how that is derived from Margaret! My own Aunt was a Margaret, but called Peggy.

I suspect this is Annes family -

Chyanchy,1,Thomas Quick,40,,Shipwright,In county,
,,Elizabeth Quick,,40,,In county,
,,Thomas Quick,20,,Joiner Apprentice,In county,
,,Elizabeth Quick,,15,,In county,
,,Mary Quick,,15,,In county,
,,Ann Quick,,9,,In county,
,,Benedict Quick,6,,,In county,
,,John Quick,4,,,In county,

Quick seems to be a common name in St Ives at that time.

What information are you looking for with regard to the Quick and Lang families? I am sure someone will be able to help you with your research.

Regards,
Mark
