The following is the online record from Mill Hill School where Geoffrey and one of his brothers Brinsley Darracott Nicholson is also mentioned. These brothers are cousins of one sort or another - too complicated to b specific.

I also have no direct ancestor who faught in the first War - so it's quite interesting to look for others

1: how do I find out more about the accident - I've looked on the Times Digital Archive - It only has a small report that an accident happened - plane nosed dived to earth where it burst into flame

2: Geoffrey was born in India but is on the 1901 census - his mother is alive but there is nothing to suggest where his father is - any ideas?

There may be something at The National Archives - see their research guides (http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/researchguidesindex.asp) or in a local newspaper

The first thing would be to establish the father's occupation so you can assess whether there might be some record to indicate where dad was at the time (I assume that mum isn't shown as a widow in the 1901 census?). The birth of your chap's brother looks to be included in the GRO index:
1893 Dec - NICHOLSON, Brinsley Darracott - Newton A. Vol. 5b Page 126
and this should record father and his occupation - unless of course there were several Brinsley Darracotts born about then.

Does anything turn up for this family on FIBIS, or the India Office library catalogue?
