I am a 1/2 British/Irish & Scottish Ancestry, half Mexican-american Genealogy-obsessed Jazz Musician, living on the West Coast of Canada. My Starbird ancestors changed the spelling of their name to Starbard. My Mother's maiden name was Boyd, and her Mother's maiden name was Starbard. My Granny did a lot of the work that is in my hands now, but I've taken it from the 1600s to the 1400s on many lines, in only one month. If she were alive now, she'd be a real Guru. You may visit my page: but note that I'm busy fixing a few errors in the 1400s! I'm researching mainly Reynolds, Starbird, Guy and Boyd right now.

Welcome to the British-Genealogy forums

Variation in spelling of names is quite common before the 20th century, I'd be surprised if you don't find some other spellings too.

I'm impressed! It's taken me a month to interpret and transcribe a single document from that period.

Good luck, have a browse through the various forums and post messages in the appropriate places.
