PLAGUE epidemics and 1300s Record keeping

I'm just back into doing my genealogy and suppose that scarcity of info in the 1300s is due to the effects of the plague. Anyone have any comments?
I'm researching my Starbard and Starbird ancestry, as well as Reynolds, Guy, Boyd and many others...

There are plenty of records - it depends what sort of thing you are after and to a large extent, what your family did; also how good you are at interpreting the handwriting and whether or not you can read Latin.

Getting back to the 14th century is an acheivement, what are you hoping to find?
