Can anyone give any info on Mary Ann Gittens b1868 Oswestry. On 1881 Census was with family of Isaac Griffiths/ Sarah Griffiths as a servant. Not quite sure before that as i've found 2 with same name and same birth year and area not with parents in 1771. Any Help?

Hi Kanuk,

I couldnt find the 2 you mentioned, so went back to 1871 found a Mary Gitti(e)ns born Oswestry abt 1868 relation nursery in the civil parish of Daywell RD Oswestry sub reg district St. Martin address 2 Weir House she is with the following:-

Richard Jones head age 37 occ joiner born Montgomeryshire
Emma wife age 37 born St. Martins Salop
Ann dau age 14 born Denbigh

In 1881 she is still with this family but is shown as Mary Jones Adopted dau and there is a adopted son George J Owens age 9 born Oswestry. They are in the civil parish of St. Martins address Quinta Gardener Lodge. Richard is now a carpenter on estate.

Hi thank you Blue eyes was looking at that one with the info you have provided have now eliminated her the one i'm looking for went on to (maybe) to marry an Edward Hughes b1866 born in Flint. Regards Ken
