I am trying to find the parents of William Hooper b1832 Tewkesbury Glos.
He later married Ann ? b1847 Tewkesbury Glos.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks Lin

Hello Lin,
I couldn't find your William on the 1841 census of Tewkesbury - there were only 2 families of HOOPER both in St Mary's Lane on HO107/380/6 as follows:
John HOOPER 48 Framework Knitter
Samuel do 43 do
George do 15 do
Hannah do 11
John was not born in the county, the others were.
Thomas HOOPER 52 Stocking Maker
Samuel do 55 do
Lot? CLUTTERBUCK 52 do
Esther HOOPER 55 do
The HOOPERs were not born in the county.
However, I looked on Gordon Beavington's online 1851 census transcription (partial) and found this family in Tewkesbury which could include your William
18
HOOPER Ann Widow/er 47 Framework Knitter Tewkesbury
William 18 Labourer Tewkesbury
Thomas 10 Scholar Tewkesbury
Mary Ann 7 Scholar Tewkesbury
BALDING Mary Sister 60 Framework Knitter Tewkesbury
HODGES Elizabeth Niece 3 Tewkesbury
There is a baptismal record on the IGI on 26 Aug 1832 of a William HOOPER, father John HOOPER, mother Ann and also a marriage record on 21 Feb 1829 of a John HOOPER to an Ann ROBERTS, both in Tewkesbury.
It looks as if it could be worth while ordering the PRs of Tewkesbury from your local LDS Family History Centre to check all this and prove William's parentage.
Janet.

Janet
Thankyou so much for all your trouble. You have helped me considerably.
Got plenty there to get my teeth into.
Thanks again
Lin
Lin,
Do you have your family in the 1861 census?
I'm transcribing the Tewkesbury 1861 and have come across a couple of HOOPER's including:
William HOOPER Head 28
Ann HOOPER Mother 57
Thos HOOPER Son 20
Let me know if this is your family and I'll send you the full details.
Regards
Rona
