Donald McKinnon b 1926 who was a school principal.

his fasmily moved there from Birmingham

I noticed your post and that no one had replied. I live in Winnipeg, and sometime soon I have to go to the library to look up an ancestor of my own in the Henderson's Directories. Would you like me to check on yours? It won't be much extra work, I have to look at the same years.

Henderson's is a yearly directory of everyone in a given city or town.

Hawk, I have been trying to think of the name of the directories for years and you have given the information. Thanks for mentioning it. Maybe it can be added to the Canadian Resources forum info. Good job.:)

I wish they were online! I'm lucky in that all my Canadian research is centered in Manitoba, and its only a bus fare to get to the library to check the books. If I had to check anywhere else, I'd have to find a contact in that city!

I may get there tomorrow, if not, next week. In any case, I'll give your ancestor a go while I look for better detail on a second cousin.
