I have no idea where my James Bell was born in Ireland. Nor who his parents are. I'm just hoping someone knows who I'm talking about. I just learned the other day of my Bell heritage. But this is ALL I know, and I don't know if it is even correct, as the info came from other individuals who had this James mentioned in their family trees. James Bell was b. Sep 15, 1763 in Ireland. He died Aug 10, 1822 in Circleville, Pickaway Co., Ohio. He married Anna Hinton. Their son, Abner Bell (my ancestor) was born Dec 8/11, 1791/1792 in Virginia, USA. Abner Bell married Mercy Smith, March 26, 1812 in Pickaway Co., Ohio. Mercy Smith was also born in Virginia, maybe Crab Bottom, Pendleton Co., Va, as that is where a brother of hers was born. Abner and Mercy' son George was born Nov 14, 1822 in Ohio. George married Athia/ Athaliah L. before 1842, probably in Ohio. Their son William A. Bell was born abt 1843 in Greene Co., Ohio, maybe in Byron, as that is where his granddaughter, my grandmother was born. William was in the Civil War, the 10th Iowa Infantry, Company K. I believe he died somewhere in Iowa before 1879.
I'd like to learn, if at all possible, where in Ireland James Bell came from. Who his parents were, etc. From the notes I've come across, so far, know one seems to know where he was born or even when he immigrated. I assume he immigrated anywhere from 1763-1791. Which port of entry, I have no idea. Any help would be appreciative. |help|
