Make head or tail of this one.
Isaac Palmer Born 1859.
I have found him listed as being born in, Pembridge. Wigmore and some odd place called Lumines. Checking google, "Lumines" is some sort of PC game.
Also Isaac is in the army. Private. Aged 22. "The Raglan Barracks", St Aubyn, Devonport. So about 1871 Isaac was doing his bit for King and Country.
Who were we fighting around that time then.
Cheers

Ummm- not so good with maths but wouldn't Isaac have been 12 in 1871 if he was born in 1859??????
Maybe you've got 2 Isaacs there??

I cannot work out what regiments are in the Raglan Barracks in 1881, some Light Infantry among others. Thought it might be possible to follow the regiment if it was known.
I see he married by the 1891 census (1885?) I wonder if he was still in the army when he married and if it would give his army details on his marriage certificate.

Hi David
Could Lumines be Luntley which is just south of Pembridge? If the person who recorded the census never heard of the place he would have written it as it sounded.
Just a thouight. Also, if your Woodhouse line ever retch Derbyshire, give me a shout.

This cant be my Isaac.
I've been on another wild goose chase again.
I cant wait to find an ancester with a name like, Faphington Thrustbottom.
It would be just my luck to find thousands of them as well.
Cheers Dave|sad1|
