Hi,
I'm trying to find the marriage of Thomas Parker and Mary, both born Pulloxhill . I've found the christening of an older child not living with them on the 1851 census so the marriage was presumably before April 1827. Can anyone help?

Odd one this, as the marriage is on the BVRI, but there's no wife given. The marriage was on 8 Sep 1826 at Pulloxhill. Possibly the name was illegible or the page was damaged. The source was the parish register, and the BT has been filmed by the LDS. The BT seems to be your best bet to find out who the wife was

Thanks David,
LDS didn't have it unfortunately, not online anyway.

I think David was suggesting that you order the film through the Mormons and view it at one of their centres. If the PR is damaged, the banns register might be an alternative.

Sorry, I didn't make myself too clear.

Mind you, Bedford isn't exactly impossibly far away from Leicester. The Bedford archives might be the best solution because of the other research that could be done during the visit.

Hi,
Thanks for the LDS details, if I'd been paying attention I would have realised what you meant. Peter's suggestion that I take a trip to Bedford is a good one but just not practical at the moment. I shall see what I can accomplish with LDS in the meantime.

I'm planning to visit Archives this coming Friday so I'll check out the marriage. In meantime has anyone checked Pulloxhill baptisms around 1807 for a Mary Ann(e) ???

The Pulloxhill marriage was between Thomas Parker & Mary Ann BURROWES, both were Of This Parish. One witness was John Smith
Could not see a baptism around 1807 at Pulloxhill for her, nor is she on the IGI.

Hi John,
Many, many thanks for looking this up. It seems the Parker and Burrows families were rather fond of each other. Thomas and Mary's grandson married a Burrows.
