Please help me find George SAFHILL on the 1881 Census or baptism

My Grandfather George SAFHILL was born on the 30 Jun 1881 at Granby Street, Devonport, Plymouth Devon. I am hoping that someone may find his parents on the 1881 Census. His Father Thomas SAFHILL b 1853 at Heston, Middlesex was based at Devonport and was in the Royal Horse Artillery. George's Mother is Henrietta formerly BECKINGTON born 1858 in Plumstead, Kent.
Also if there is any likelihood of a christening I would be extrememly grateful.

I have searched using variations of spelling but have come up with nothing I'm afraid.

All I could find was Thomas & Henrietta's marriage - but I guess you probably have that?

Do you subscribe to ancestry? there are posts on their message boards re Safhill/Beckington going back to 2002 from two ladies - Gill Willmott and Lyn Porter but you may have already made contact with them?

It may well be that Thomas had been posted abroad and the parents were returning to the UK at the time of the census. I'd suggest searching for Thomas Safhill's service record at The National Archives at Kew.

Also, do bear in mind that the surname may be spelt in other ways, there was greater illiteracy and names were spelt as they sounded - I could easily imagine someone with a strong accent called Thomas Southill having their name misconstrued as Safhill.
