I know there is an address that I can write to and if I give them money they send me the will or Admon(letters of administration) for the person I am researching. I thought it was the Probate Registry, Duncombe Place York but my letter has been returned unopened and with a Royal Mail label saying *addressee has gone away*
Can anyone shed a little light?

Thank you so much, both of you, that's a great help. It also feels good to know that I wasn't going completely mad and York was the right place, I just had the wrong address - phew!
