Hello
Sorry, not too clear to my sleepy mind as to where you are stuck?
Are you trying to trace what happened to George BENNETT, or trying to trace his ancestry?

If you are trying to trace him forward, you might try:
CWGC - (Did he survive the war)
National ROLL of the Great War
Directories
Will of his father
GRO index

Do ask if you are not sure about what these are and how to find them

Hi Geoffers, thanks so much for replying, yes I am looking forward. It seems to be hard to find anything that is concrete, you got me thinking with the 'Will of his father" as I can't even find the death year of either of his parents! Can you please point me in this direction? Wills that is. thanks Jessy

Wills are often a good way to locate surviving family members, not only children, but grandchildren too.

There is a calendar (annual index) to probate records that has been copied onto microfilm. In the UK it can be seen at many county record offices/local studies libraries. I understand that it is also available at mormon church (LDS) record centres.

The calendar provides a lot of useful information in itself. You will often find: Name, when and where died, sometimes an occupation. Value of estate, whether probate or admon (Letters of Administration granted where there was no will), names of executor(s), sometimes a relationship, sometimes and address and occupation.

Directories can be useful if you know a town where someone lived.
try historical directories (http://www.historicaldirectories.org/)
or those sold by The parish Chest (http://www.parishchest.com/)and other companies that advertise in famly history magazines.
