Hi. Just introducing myself.
I'm trying to pull together both my own and my husband's paternal family trees.
The LUCKINGS are turning out to be a real nuisance in the mid 1800's when spellings were all over the place. I've ended up just grabbing everything I can off Ancestry for that surname then trying to piece it all together again.
I'm currently stuck with John and Mary Ann Luckings, who don't appear on the 1881 census return together even though they were married from 1871 - 1885. Poor old Mary Ann is in lodgings with her eldest child at the time. There's also an 8 year gap between children, when he was goodness knows where under whatever name.
The March portion is Scotland based, and I have got back to a marriage in 1826 - well before official registration. But sadly, no further. No baptism records for the people in question seem available, at least not online.
If any of this might tie in with someone else's research, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
