I am looking for a Howard James Markland born within the district of Consulate General Antwerp 20 March 1929 (Birth cert).
He later emmigrated to Canada with his family age 7 (f.Norman, stepmom Christine & b.Edward) (findmypast) 1936 to Quebec. I am told that he died in Canada (possibly a neighbouring state) in about 1975.
He also married about 3 times with no known children.
I am having alot of trouble researching within Canada, is his death likely to be recorded in the British Death Index?

I have had a quick look but nothing showing for Howard, but then I would have been surprised if I had found him. The only time he would have been registered in the UK was if he had died here.

So sorry it would appear that you will have to keep going with the Canadian records, mind there are members from Canada who may be able to give you hints on where and how to search.

Not necessarily Grace, Normans mother Born England died Belgium (complications of birthing) is on the English BMD index and has a England death cert.

Howard James born Belgium to English parents is on the Birth Index and also has an English birth cert.
Also England has a register of Deaths for Overseas citizens. Therefore I figured he might have his name listed in England somewhere.

(ps. 1st post modified to be a little clearer).
